The Minnesota Vikings need a starting running back and Lacy is familiar with the team’s division since he has spent his entire NFL career in the NFC North.

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings who enjoy a good “Eddie Lacy eats too much” joke may have to bite their tongues soon as the running back could become a member of the Vikings’ roster in the near future.

According to the sports management firm that represents Lacy, Minnesota is one of three teams that the free-agent running back will be meeting with during the next few days.

Most who root for the Vikings are very familiar with the skills of Lacy out on the football field. The running back has averaged over 100 total yards and scored six touchdowns in seven career games against Minnesota.

After only missing a total of two games in his first three seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Lacy was only able to get on the field for five games in 2016 due to an ankle injury.

Adding the running back to their roster would certainly improve Minnesota’s backfield heading into the 2017 season. Pairing his skills with those of current Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon would definitely present some interesting matchup problems for Minnesota’s opponents.
