Minnesota Vikings draft 2017: Post free agency mock draft
By Jordan Reid
With free agency winding down, and the 2017 NFL Draft quickly approaching, who are some prospects that potentially could be selected by the Vikings?
It was widely known across the league that the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive line was one of the worst in the entire league. General manager Rick Spielman has patiently addressed one of the team’s biggest weakness in free agency.
After seeing big names such as Andrew Whitworth, and Russell Okung taken off the market by other teams, fans started to become disgruntled and skeptical of the Spielman process. As he always does, he lets the market settle before he begins to sign free-agents.

Riley Reiff and Mike Remmers were signed to become the team’s starting offensive tackles next season. A combined $88 million invested in both, the team’s offensive front was upgraded at a reasonable price that didn’t endanger their salary cap in the future.
Another considered weakness was in the backfield. Jerick McKinnon, C.J. Ham and Bishop Sankey were the only running backs under contract for next season and there are surrounding questions on whether McKinnon can be a reliable number one option.
What did the team do to supplement him? They added a versatile power runner in Latavius Murray. The combination of Murray and McKinnon now helps the team stay true to their running back board and potentially draft the best overall prospect, opposed to drafting a specific type of back.
The Vikings have eight picks in the upcoming draft. Let’s take a look at what the Vikings can potentially do to address the remaining needs on their roster.
