WATCH: Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs destroys the competition back in his high school days
By Adam Patrick
Before he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015, wide receiver Stefon Diggs made his opponents look silly on the high school football fields in Maryland.
It has not taken very long for Stefon Diggs to make a name for himself in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. The wide receiver still has a ways to go before he can be considered among the all-time greats, but he certainly has the skills and work-ethic to possibly be included in the conversation one day.
More than half a decade ago before Diggs was a member of the Vikings, he was regarded as one of the top high school football prospects in the entire country.
He was recruited by a number of big-time college football programs including Florida, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan, and Clemson but he eventually decided to stay in his home state and play football at the University of Maryland.
Judging by the highlights below of Diggs during his high school football days, it is very simple to figure out why he was one the country’s top recruits.
As shown in these clips, Diggs’ skill-set was above and beyond the abilities of his opponents. Once the ball was in his hands, defenders really had no chance in catching the elusive receiver.
The video even includes a few highlights of Diggs playing on the defensive side of the ball and they are unsurprisingly impressive. His intensity on the football field was clearly not exclusive to just the offensive side of the ball.

Seeing how far an NFL player has come since his high school days is always intriguing. But with Diggs, it just further cements the fact that Minnesota got an absolute steal of a player when they selected him in the fifth-round of the 2015 draft.
