The newest addition to the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive backfield went under the knife on Wednesday to repair an injured ankle.
Less than a week after signing him, new Minnesota Vikings running back Latavius Murray is already on the injury report. Well okay, not exactly.
The team announced on Wednesday that Murray underwent surgery to repair an apparent injury to his ankle. In their announcement, the team specified the surgery as, “successful,” (not really sure when a team has ever announced an unsuccessful surgery before though).
The running back is expected to be fine and ready in time for training camp this summer. According to a number of reporters, Murray’s injury was known by the Vikings before the team decided to signed him.
It may be a little scary to hear about an injury to a player on the Vikings roster already this year (especially with the way their injury report looked like last season), but it is normal for players to have minor surgeries during the offseason like this one.
So basically the surgery should not be a concern to for the running back and his goals heading into the 2017 season. He should be plenty healthy to help Minnesota improve upon their league-worst rushing offense from a year ago.
