The Minnesota Vikings signed a few cheap free-agents on Thursday, including one who was with the team during training camp last year.

Due to the NFL’s 2017 free agency period beginning almost a month ago, many of the big-name free-agents have already signed new contracts for next season. The Minnesota Vikings were among some of the most active in free agency this year with the acquisitions of running back Latavius Murray, offensive tackle Riley Reiff, and offensive tackle Mike Remmers.

The Vikings did not break the bank on Thursday, but they did add a few players that have the potential to blossom into a valuable asset one day.

Minnesota signed wide receiver Mitch Mathews, cornerback Terrell Sinkfield, and tight end Nick Truesdell.

Mathews may be someone to keep an eye on. He measures in at 6-foot-5, 215 pounds and he caught 24 touchdowns during his college career at BYU.

Some Vikings fans should recognize Sinkfield, as he tried out for the team last year as a wide receiver. However, he was let go by Minnesota before the start of the 2016 season.

Truesdell is a 6-foot-6, 252 pound tight end who has spent time in both the Indoor Football League and the Arena Football League.

None of these signings should jump out at anyone as being amazing at this point in time. But perhaps down the road one of these guys could become an important piece of the Vikings’ roster.
