It is apparently Super Bowl or bust for the Minnesota Vikings’ veteran defensive back this year as he prepares to play in his 15th NFL season.
In the eight times that Terence Newman has played in a playoff game, only once has he been part of a team that actually was victorious in the postseason. During the 14 years Newman has spent in the league, not once has he played in a conference championship game or a Super Bowl.
Now 38-years-old, the cornerback will be doing his best in 2017 to help the Minnesota Vikings capture their very first Super Bowl win in the franchise’s history.
During a recent interview, Newman talked about his goals for the upcoming season.
"“It was good to re-sign with the Vikings and be back with the guys that I’ve been playing with the last two years. Hopefully (finish what we started) two years ago, for me personally anyway. Hopefully we can bring a Super Bowl back to the Twin Cities.”– Terence Newman"
It is good to know that despite their disappointing 8-8 finish in 2016, winning a Super Bowl is still on the minds of at least a few players on the Vikings’ 2017 roster. Newman knows that making the playoffs next season would be real nice and pretty neat, but anything short of a Super Bowl win at this point in the cornerback’s career would definitely still be considered a disappointment.

For Newman’s sake, hopefully Minnesota avoids any miscommunications in 2017 and are able to emerge as a championship contender by the time next season’s playoffs come around.
