Fifth selection:

Corey Davis, WR – Western Michigan

  • 6-foot-3
  • 209 pounds
  • 40-yard dash: 4.48 seconds

Career stats:

  • 331 catches, 5,278 receiving yards
  • 15.5 yards per catch, 52 touchdowns

Wait, didn’t the Vikings select a wide receiver with their first pick in last year’s draft? Yes they did and he only had one catch in his rookie season, the same amount that quarterback Sam Bradford also finished with in 2016.

Even if Laquon Treadwell is able to become a vital part of Minnesota’s offense in 2017, the Vikings still need to find a receiver that can be their deep threat (just ask Mike Zimmer).

At his size, Davis would have easily been a favorite target of former Minnesota quarterback Duante Culpepper. During his career at Western Michigan, Davis demonstrated time and time again his ability to snatch the ball out of the air and walk into the end zone.
