7. Chris Cook, CB

Second round, 34th overall

(2010)

Since Minnesota decided to trade away their first-round pick earlier in the draft, Cook was technically the Vikings’ number one selection in 2010. At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Minnesota was hoping that the cornerback would be able to matchup well with some of the taller receivers around the league.

However, the Vikings’ visions for Cook did not necessarily go what one would call, “according to plan.”

During his first two seasons in Minnesota he struggled to even get on the field, appearing in just 12 out of a possible 32 games thanks to injuries and run-ins with the law. He played two more years with the Vikings before the team finally gave up on any thoughts of him turning into a good player.

Also, everyone reading this right now has as many interceptions as Cook did during his time in Minnesota.

Notable players drafted after Cook:

Rob Gronkowski (NE), T.J. Ward (Cle), NaVorro Bowman (SF)
