The Minnesota Vikings’ defensive end thinks that his career in the NFL will probably be over after two more seasons.

Since 2011, Brian Robison has been one of the most dependable players on the entire Minnesota Vikings roster. The defensive end has only missed one game in the past six seasons and he has been an important part the Vikings’ recent defensive resurgence.

His statistics are not at an All-Pro level, but ask any player or coach in Minnesota and they will gladly talk about how valuable Robison is to the team’s success on defense.

A few weeks ago, he and the Vikings agreed to extend his contract until 2019. But recently, Robison told Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press that his NFL career will likely be over when his current contract with Minnesota comes to an end.

"“I really do believe that probably at the end of those two years, it will be it. It’ll be about my time to call it (a career), but we’ll see how I feel when I get there. But I would say that more than likely, that will probably be the time that I’m going to have to lay things to the side and get ready for life after football.”– Brian Robison"

It should not come as much of a surprise. Robison will be 35-years-old when his contract is up with the Vikings and by then, Danielle Hunter will have likely supplanted him as a starter on the team’s defensive line.

But until then, Minnesota’s fans should make an effort to get to a Vikings game as it will be one the last few times they will have a chance to see Robison perform his trademark “Hook ‘Em” post-sack dance. It does not happen often, but it is certainly one of the most entertaining and creative celebrations done by an NFL player today.
