The Minnesota Vikings will find out when and where they will be playing their 16 regular season games this Thursday night.

After the NFL’s preseason schedule for 2017 was released last week, the announcement of regular season schedule now has an official date and time. On Thursday at 8 p.m. eastern, the league will release the 2017 regular season schedules for all all 32 teams.

Once the schedule has been announced, then everyone can give their hot takes and way too early predictions of how they think the 2017 season will turn out for each team.

For the Minnesota Vikings, their opponents are already known and the team also knows that it will be traveling to London, England sometime near the end of October to play the Cleveland Browns. In case anyone is unaware of what teams will be on the Vikings’ schedule in 2017, here is a bit of a refresher.

Home:

  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • New Orleans Saints
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Away:

  • Chicago Bears
  • Detroit Lions
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Cleveland Browns (in London)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Washington Redskins

In addition to knowing Minnesota will be traveling to England in late October, the team will also be playing in at least one Thursday night game (unfortunately) as each team is required to have at least one game take place on a Thursday during the regular season.

Due to missing the playoffs in 2016, the Vikings are unlikely to be featured on national television this year as much as they were last season. In 2016, Minnesota played in five nationally televised games and they should feel lucky if there is at least one of these games on their schedule for 2017.

With the regular season schedule release taking place this Thursday, it just means that the Vikings’ return to the football field is that much closer.
