Eddie Johnson, P – 2003

Before the Vikings wasted away a draft pick in 2013 when they selected UCLA punter Jeff Locke, Minnesota used a sixth-round selection on Idaho State punter Eddie Johnson in 2003.

Johnson lasted 14 games with the Vikings before the team figured it was better off without him. In his one season with Minnesota, he averaged an embarrassing 39.1 yards per punt.

He was given one more chance to make the team during the Vikings’ training camp in 2004, but the team said no thanks and released him before the start of the regular season.
