Troy Walters, WR – 2000

Two years after drafting arguably the greatest wide receiver in team history in Randy Moss, Minnesota selected college football’s best wide receiver from 1999. Stanford’s Troy Walters was pretty much the exact same player as Moss except for the fact that he was 5-foot-8.

Walter’s career in the NFL did last for eight years, but only two of those were spent with the Vikings where he was the team’s primary kick returner. This has to be some kind of record, but Walters touched the ball 88 times while he was with Minnesota and did not score a single touchdown.

The Vikings released him after the 2001 season. Perhaps they should have waited a little longer since they had more than seven different players return a kick in 2002.
