"With the 232nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Eric Wilson, linebacker, Cincinnati."

A prospect who has quietly generated some buzz in small circles is former Bearcat linebacker Eric Wilson. His production speaks for itself, collecting 265 tackles in his impressive career. Another factor that helped boost his stock tremendously was his pro day. Running a 4.48 40, and jumping a 39.5″ vertical, Wilson caught the eye of many scouts.

He plays just as fast on his film, frequently at his outside LB spot. What makes Wilson even more valuable as a late-round selection is that he was a contributor on every special teams unit. Late-round picks primarily start their careers out on special teams and with Wilson already having experience there, it helps his stock.

Wilson is very instinctive and seems to always know where the ball is. He is an ideal fit as a Will LB, which just so happens to be a need for the Vikings with the retirement of Chad Greenway.
