"With the 245th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select Jack Tocho, cornerback, N.C. State."

As most late-round picks are, they are strictly based on risk, upside, value and to gain roster depth. Former N.C. State defensive back Jack Tocho is a prime example of this.

A senior captain for the Wolfpack, he was a do it all player for them. He is a physical man-to-man cornerback with some limitations. Long speed is the biggest flaw most see in Tocho’s game. Recording a 4.54 fourty, that is low for a cornerback with his skill type.

Scouts think he may be best suited as a safety because he plays well when seeing everything in front of him. At safety, he would have a chance to see the entire field and thus it would cater to his playing style.

He has been a productive player with 32 passes defending, including six career interceptions. He also is very good in run support.
