In his second NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings’ 2016 first-round draft pick is turning a few heads during the team’s OTAs this spring.
During his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings, wide receiver Laquon Treadwell did not necessarily have a year to remember. After former first-round draft picks like Randy Moss and Percy Harvin exploded out of the gate during their rookie seasons with the Vikings, Treadwell’s first year was a bit underwhelming to say the least.
But that is in the past and Minnesota’s young receiver is determined to prove his worth to the team in 2017. He spoke recently about how much better he is as a player coming into this season and a play during the Vikings’ OTA practice on Wednesday could be a sign of things to come for the pass catcher.
Now Minnesota is only practicing in shorts, but out-leaping Xavier Rhodes for the ball is still something that should give Treadwell a confidence boost for the future.
Especially given the spectacular season Rhodes is coming off of. Minnesota’s cornerback was one of the best in the NFL in 2016 and the Vikings’ second-year receiver just beat him for the ball.

Hopefully for Minnesota, plays like this will become something of the norm for Treadwell during the 2017 season. It sure would make the Vikings’ offensive much more dangerous for their opponents.
