The Minnetonka Queen

During a typical bye week, many NFL players like to take advantage of their extra time off and relax either at home or on a nice beach somewhere. However, during the 2005 season, more than a dozen members of the Minnesota Vikings (including quarterback Daunte Culpepper) attempted to make that year’s bye week one to remember.

Well it was definitely memorable, but likely not for the reasons they were hoping for.

On the night of October 6, 2005, a group of Vikings players set sail on a pair of yachts in Minnesota’s Lake Minnetonka to party it up with a few female guests. More than 90 is still considered a few right?

Things apparently turned hot and heavy rather quickly and it was a bit too much for the captain to handle. The boats were steered back to shore after just 40 minutes and the local authorities were called to come sort out the messy situation.

Three Vikings players ended up being found guilty of a disorderly conduct misdemeanor and the team has not had a party on a yacht since.
