What? It’s just kombucha

Less than two months after signing with the Vikings for the 2017 season, wide receiver Michael Floyd was back in the news for the wrong reasons after testing positive for alcohol while still serving a house arrest sentence from a previous DUI.

Floyd and his camp immediately denied any intentional consumption of alcohol and instead placed the blame on the receiver drinking too much kombucha tea, which is known to have trace amounts of alcohol in it. Instead of dismissing Floyd’s excuse as outrageous, Minnesota actually supported the receiver’s explanation and also admitted to encouraging him to drink the tea.

The Vikings receiver was later sentenced to one day in jail and five days of house arrest for violating the terms of his original house arrest. Maybe just stick to gatorade next time Mike?
