The snow is not supposed to be inside, right?

Coming off a win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 13 of the 2010 season to move their record to 5-7, the Vikings were doing their best to stay alive in the playoff hunt. Their next matchup was a must-win and against a tough New York Giants team.

Minnesota was going to need their home crowd to be nice and loud in order to have a shot at upsetting the Giants in Week 14. However, mother nature had other plans.

Thanks to a vicious snow storm that resulted in more than two feet of snow in some areas of Minnesota, the roof of the Vikings’ home stadium (the Metrodome) collapsed just hours before the team was set to kickoff against New York. The game had to be postponed (obviously) and it eventually took place the following night at Detroit’s Ford Field.

Not even Minnesota’s own stadium could keep it together in 2010.
