The Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback recently spoke about how his confidence level has improved heading into the team’s 2017 season.

Sam Bradford’s 2016 season in the NFL was easily the most unique of his career since he entered the league back in 2010. After going through a full offseason and training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, the quarterback was told he was heading to the Minnesota Vikings days before the start of the regular season.

Bradford went on to start in 15 of the Vikings’ 16 games and turned in a pretty impressive year based on the circumstances he had to deal with during the season. From having to learn a new offense, gel with his new receivers, and adjust to his offensive coordinator resigning midway through the year, the quarterback overcame a lot to perform the way he did in 2016.

Recently, Bradford spoke with the Star Tribune’s Sid Hartman about how the upcoming year and how a full offseason in Minnesota should increase his chances for success.

"“Just to be here this offseason, to be able to go through the program, go through the meetings, the installs, really sit down and learn this offense and what we’re trying to do, it’s a much better situation than showing up here however many days, eight or nine, before the first game last year and trying to learn everything on the fly.”"

This is good to hear from Bradford as the Vikings will likely need him to play even better than he did in 2016 in order for the team to return to the playoffs this year.

It is an important season for the quarterback as he is currently playing in the last year of his contract with Minnesota and could easily be on the free-agent market come next offseason. A good year with the Vikings and Bradford could be looking at nice new deal to stay put in Minnesota.

Next: Will Sam Bradford be better or worse in 2017?

One would think that the quarterback should be able to perform well this year just based on the fact that he has had a full offseason with the Vikings. Hopefully his extra time with the team results in him leading Minnesota back to the postseason in 2017.
