Morning walk thru and Zimmer presser:

Minnesota began their second day of this year’s training camp with the normal morning walk thru. For those not familiar with what a walk thru is, it involves very little physicality and the players focus more learning the details of plays and schemes. Think of it sort of as a live, in-person film session.

Nothing real major or exciting happened during the Vikings’ day-two walk thru, but one of their 2017 draft picks was given reps at one of the spots currently up for grabs this year on defense.

Following the walk thru, Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer took to the podium and answered questions from the local media.

Some of Zimmer’s more interesting talking points included remarks about wide receiver Moritz Böhringer, rookie offensive guard Danny Isidora, and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.

Zimmer also commented on possibly giving defensive coordinator George Edwards an opportunity to call plays for the defense for a game this preseason. But do not give any serious thought yet to Zimmer giving up these duties during the regular season.
