Day two afternoon practice:

Vikings’ rookies and backups got another day of practice in before the rest of the team arrives on Wednesday and takes over most of the reps. It sounds like Minnesota’s staff is happy for the extra time they get to have with some of the team’s lesser experienced players.

The Vikings began their second day of practice by having a few players receive punts.

After getting a little praise from Zimmer earlier in the day, Böhringer showed some of his inexperience out on the field.

But Böhringer has also apparently landed an endorsement deal with Adidas.

As Böhringer struggled, a few of Minnesota’s other young pass catchers made the most of their increased opportunities including rookie wide receiver R.J. Shelton and tight end Nick Truesdell.

Another day of practice without a whole ton of excitement, but that is to be expected since the Vikings’ best players have not even moved into training camp yet.

Minnesota’s practice on Wednesday will take place a little earlier than the past two days as players will hit the field for two hours beginning at at 9 a.m. CT. The remaining veterans will also be arriving in Mankato on Wednesday and will likely be welcomed by a swarm of Vikings fans.
