Entering his third season with the Minnesota Vikings, the 2015 fifth-round pick is establishing himself as an elite wide receiver and leader.

Stefon Diggs is entering his third season in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings. Diggs was a fifth-round draft pick of the Vikings back in the 2015 draft. It has become a steal of a pick for Minneota as Diggs is on the brink of elite wide receiver status.

He has filled a major need for the Vikings on the outside as the team has not had a real number one threat since the 2009 season when Sidney Rice had his breakout season.

Diggs has established himself as the number one wide receiver for Minnesota after a very impressive season last year when he finished with 84 receptions, 903 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. He most likely would have finished with over 100 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards last season if it wasn’t for the injuries that slowed him down and caused him to miss three games.

Diggs has a total of 136 receptions, 1,623 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in his career. He leads all Vikings in receptions and receiving yards over the past two seasons.

He has become the leader for a young Minnesota wide receiver corp in which he is using his experience to help some of the younger guys out.

He understands how hard it takes to make it on a NFL team. Diggs recently spoke about his willingness to help out his teammates.

"“My first year, I wasn’t focused on making the team. I was focused on getting my job done. That transition now is a different approach.More from The Viking Age6 biggest draft steals in Minnesota Vikings historyFormer Vikings first-round pick could reportedly return to NFC NorthBears analyst has extremely embarrassing Kirk Cousins take6 Vikings who (maybe) won’t make the 53-man roster in 2023Predicting what the Vikings will do in the 2023 NFL Draft based on 2022I’m looking at it from a different point of view, and I know how hard it is. I’ve been in those shoes, and I know there’s a lot thrown at you. Let them know, ‘I’ve got your back. I’m right here with you. There’s nothing to worry about.’’’"

It is exciting to see Diggs grow into a leadership role for the young wide receivers on the team much like what Cris Carter did back in 1998 when he took Randy Moss under his wing.

Diggs development over the past two seasons has him in line for a huge season as the Vikings’ number one wide out.

Next: Like it or not, the Vikings are Bradford's team in 2017

He has built a strong connection with Minnesota quarterback Sam Bradford, which was noticeable from the first week they were on the field together. Plus the Vikings’ run game should be stronger, which creates more space and one-on-one plays for Diggs to make Minnesota’s fans happy.
