Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is making big plays during the team’s training camp and was recently involved in a scuffle after a nice end zone catch.

When NFL players are competing for roster spots, a fight is bound to happen. It sounds like a negative thing to deal with during training camp, but in certain situations they can be indicative about what is going on with the team.

During the Minnesota Vikings’  training camp on Monday, there was a fight that possibly said something about 2017. That being Vikings’ wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is working hard and has a competitive fire in him.

The scuffle was between Treadwell and Minnesota defensive back Antone Exum after a touchdown catch by Treadwell. Exum clearly didn’t agree that Treadwell caught the ball cleanly. It is not shown if Treadwell provoked him unnecessarily after the touchdown.

Exum ended up shoving Treadwell and then pushed Adam Thielen who was attempting to break up the fight. After that Exum tackled Treadwell all the way down to the ground. The fight was dissolved and no one was reported injured.

The biggest take away from this video is that Treadwell is proving to be that big target, red zone threat the Vikings drafted him to be. After a disappointing rookie campaign, it is good to see him getting involved. This catch involved an excellent route and stellar concentration to finish the play.

There is a lot of opportunity for receivers like Treadwell to step up for the Minnesota this year. Outside of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen the rotation is up for grabs. Furthermore, Michael Floyd, who is an early favorite for the third receiver spot, is suspended for the first four games.

If Treadwell can run good routes and focus on being a possession receiver, he will have a role on the Vikings in 2017. He needs to keep the fire that caused Monday’s fight and keep improving. Minnesota will hope that he can make the opposing defensive backs just as angry during the regular season.
