The Inquisitr’s Evan Massey thinks the Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback is primed to finish the upcoming season with some big-time numbers.
Given that the 2017 NFL regular season is still more than a month away from beginning, plenty of time remains for predictions about this year to continue being made. The outlook for the Minnesota Vikings this year seems to be varied, but at least one writer is optimistic about their chances in 2017.
The Inquisitr’s Evan Massey recently published an article that features a few bold predictions about the Vikings and some of their players for the upcoming season. Some of which include Minnesota finishing with a 12-4 record, winning the NFC North, rookie running back Dalvin Cook winning Offensive Rookie of the Year, and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell ending the season with over 1,000 receiving yards.
However, his boldest prediction was about how Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford will perform in 2017.
"“It has been an up-and-down career for Sam Bradford, but he seems to have found a home in Minnesota. Bradford will come through with a massive season, racking up 4,000 yards and 35 or more touchdowns.” Minnesota Vikings The Viking Age 0d - 6 biggest draft steals in Minnesota Vikings history More headlines around FanSided: 1d - Former Vikings first-round pick could reportedly return to NFC North 1d - Bears analyst has extremely embarrassing Kirk Cousins take 1d - 6 Vikings who (maybe) won't make the 53-man roster in 2023 2d - Which teams could be drafting a quarterback next year? 2d - Predicting what the Vikings will do in the 2023 NFL Draft based on 2022 More News at The Viking Age"
The 4,000 yards does not seem too lofty of a prediction since he was only 123 passing yards short of that total last season. But the part about him passing for 35 touchdowns may be a tad generous.
For one, Bradford has never thrown more than 21 touchdowns in any of his six years in the NFL. Also, the Vikings have continued to say their offense will revolve around a solid run game this season (despite their rushing attack being abysmal in 2016) which will mean less passing opportunities for Bradford.
Is it possible that he could finish with 35 touchdowns in 2017? Yes, of course it is possible.
But does it seem likely based on everything Bradford has ever done during his career up to this point? Unfortunately, that answer is no.

However, if he actually does end up with a final touchdown total of around 35 this season, Minnesota would have an easy answer for who their starting quarterback will be in 2018 and beyond.
