Taylor Heinicke, QB

Currently competing for Minnesota’s second-string quarterback slot with Case Keenum, Heinicke has been a bit hot and cold during the team’s training camp this year. He has had his good days and he has had his bad, but his performance during actual gameplay is likely what will determine his chance at making the Vikings’ 2017 roster.

Heinicke did play well the last time he lined up under center for the Vikings during the preseason. Yes it was a game in 2015, but the young quarterback finished Minnesota’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans by completing 66 percent of his passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns.

The battle to be the Vikings’ backup quarterback will likely come down to the wire, so Heinicke has to make the most of every upcoming preseason game if he wants to win the job.
