Rookie defensive end Tashawn Bower came away with a big sack in the second quarter of the Minnesota Vikings first preseason game of the 2017 season.

On Thursday, August 10, 2017, the Minnesota Vikings traveled to Buffalo to take on the Bills in week 1 of the NFL preseason. This is the first look fans will get at the Vikings against another NFL team, making everything fresh and new.

One player who took full advantage of their opportunity in this game is defensive end Tashawn Bower. Bower was a priority undrafted free agent out of LSU who is looking to make a name for himself with the Vikings.

He put himself on the map in the second quarter of the game by showcasing an excellent pass rush where he went around the left tackle of the Bills to bring down the quarterback for a huge loss.

Here is the video as shared on the official Twitter account of the Minnesota Vikings:

Quarterback T.J. Yates dropped back to pass against the Vikings defense, but didn’t count on such a big pass rush coming at him, especially from his back side.

Lined up against offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson, Bower was quick off the snap. He used a combination of power and speed to get around the edge, where he used a tight angle to get to make a clear path to the quarterback.

Wrapping up Yates, all the offensive linemen on the field could do was watch as Bower took their quarterback to the ground for a big loss of yardage.

Bower is fighting for a spot on the Minnesota Vikings 53 man roster or the franchise’s practice squad this year, and if he can continue to make great plays like this, he will get a long look from the coaching staff.
