Overall team Grade: C

The Minnesota Vikings were average at best last night against the Bills. The team was looking to show improvements from a team that finished 8-8 last season but failed to do that. The Vikings have high expectations for the season but didn’t show a lot of excitement for the fans last night.

The Vikings were outgained by the Bills 242-309. The Bills run game looked more impressive, especially early on in the game when they had 4 or 5 runs go for 10 plus yards in the first half. Minnesota Vikings picked up 17 first downs compared to the Buffalo Bills 20 first downs.

Despite a disappointing showing, there are positives to take out of this game. The Vikings kept their penalties in check with a total of 3 to the Bills 10. Also, the Vikings were efficient in the red zone with scoring 2 times out of the 3 times they were in the red zone

Mike Zimmer was displeased with his team’s effort last night. After the game during his post-game conference Zimmer said “My expectations are higher than that”. The team has work to do before their next game in a week against the Seattle Seahawks.
