Out: Emmanuel Lamur, LB

Signed as a free-agent during the 2016 offseason, some assumed that Lamur would be the one to takeover Chad Greenway‘s spot on the Vikings’ defense following the veteran linebacker’s retirement this year. Well, Minnesota is one game into their 2017 preseason and Greenway’s replacement has yet to be found.

It is not that Lamur played horribly last Thursday in Buffalo, he just did not do much to separate himself from his competition in Edmond Robinson and Ben Gedeon. If the position battle is still pretty even between the three by the time the regular season rolls around, the Vikings would likely go with one of the cheaper options in either Robinson or Gedeon.
