Dalvin Cook showed why fans are excited that he could be the next great running back for the Minnesota Vikings during week 2 of the preseason vs Seattle.

The NFL preseason continued into week 2 of the NFL season when the Minnesota Vikings visited Seattle on Friday, August 18, 2017 to take on the Seahawks in what would be a great test for the team going forward.

One player who made the most of this opportunity was rookie running back Dalvin Cook. Getting the start in place of the injured Latavius Murray, Cook impressed with his receiving skills in week 1. In week 2, he showed off his skills on the ground.

Here is the play in question as shared on the official Twitter account of the Minnesota Vikings:

Near the end of the first quarter quarterback Sam Bradford and the Minnesota Vikings were inside their own 20 yard line when the center snapped the ball. Bradford dropped back, handing the ball off to Cook.

A hole formed on the left side of the line, and the rookie running back slid right through it. A quick stutter move threw off the defense, allowing him to get to the next level. Then, he turned on the speed.

Dashing through a group of defenders, the defense closed in on him before he could gain a ton of yardage, but the damage had already been done on the 15 yard carry by Cook, earning the team a first down.

Plays like this are what gives fans of the Minnesota Vikings hope that Dalvin Cook will be the next great running back for the franchise after the departure of former franchise player Adrian Peterson this offseason.
