Round 2 – 3

Dalvin Cook

Yes, he’s a rookie. That makes this pick extremely risky. But out of all the Minnesota Vikings’ players, Dalvin Cook absolutely has the most upside. It may take him a week or two to get used to the style of play in the NFL, but once he hits his stride, watch out.

His size alone gives fantasy owners a reason to be excited. At 5’10” 210 lbs, it’s clear that Cook has some serious power and leverage. If the offensive line can allow him to show his downhill running, he should be able to power through even the best of defenses.

For all you PPR lovers out there, Cook is the guy for you. He proved, at Florida State, that he could catch passes out of the backfield. It’s not just his ability to run the routes, though. He’s shifty enough to avoid defenders, making him a legitimate big play threat out of the backfield.

Dalvin Cook is a safe pick for the 2nd round in PPR leagues and 3rd round in all others. If he’s on the board, it’s worth taking a shot on him. He’s clearly going to be the number one back in Minnesota.
