The good stuff vs. the 49ers

1. Heinicke for the win!

Despite being down 14-0 early in the game against San Francisco the Vikings still found themselves a play away from a win on Sunday night. After running back Terrell Newby punched in a one-yard run for a touchdown and cut the 49ers lead to one, Minnesota went for the win and stayed on the field for the two-point conversion.

On the attempt, it looked as though the original plan broke down, but luckily Vikings quarterback Taylor Heinicke decided to use his wheels and ran in for the game-winning two points.

2. McKinnon jets past everyone for a kickoff return touchdown

Near the end of the third quarter, San Francisco kicked the ball off to the Vikings and running back Jerick McKinnon. Despite receiving the ball deep in Minnesota’s own end zone, McKinnon still decided to try and make a play and make a play he did.

In a matter of seconds, the Vikings added more points to their total on Sunday after McKinnon was able to race past the 49ers’ defenders and return the kick 108 yards for a touchdown.

3. Adams gets in the end zone once again

Rookie wide receiver Rodney Adams has not made a whole ton of plays this preseason, but he seems to have a knack for finding the end zone. After hauling in a touchdown catch during Minnesota’s first preseason game against the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago, Adams found himself celebrating a score again on Sunday.

4. Exum snags a beauty of an interception

The veteran safety has been playing well ever since he got into that little scuffle with Laquon Treadwell back during Minnesota’s training camp a few weeks ago. Exum is currently fighting for a spot on the Vikings’ final roster and his impressive interception on Sunday certainly will not hurt his chances.

5. Hey Laquon Treadwell, nice to see you

In his first game action this preseason, second-year wide receiver Laquon Treadwell hauled in a few catches to remind everyone that he actually exists in the flesh. Treadwell finished Sunday night with a total of three catches for 36 yards.
