Schmidt’s game grades: Miami Dolphins vs. Minnesota Vikings

Vikings Defense Grade: D
The Vikings defense turned in a disappointing effort last night. The secondary was torched by Dolphins wide receiver Jakeem Grant. Grant’s final stat line was four receptions for 141 yards and one score. He averaged 35-yards a catch.
Sam Brown and Jabari Price struggled at the cornerback position allowing the Dolphins receivers to get behind them. Brown was lined up across from Grant when Grant blew by him for a 65-yard touchdown. The speedy wide receiver was too much for Brown and Price.

Mackenzie Alexander, potential starting nickelback for the Vikings, finally got lined up against Grant late in the first half. Alexander made a great defensive play to break up the pass that would have been a touchdown but instead forced 4th down. However, he taunted Grant which drew a penalty. On the next play the Dolphins scored a touchdown.
The front seven didn’t put in a better effort as they only managed to get one sack last night. The sack was made by Dylan Bradley a rookie out of Southern Mississippi. Having no pass rush last night allowed David Fales to throw for 12-20, 193 yards and three touchdowns.
