The Minnesota Vikings channeled their retro wrestling fans in a promo fans of Southpaw Regional Wrestling will love to promote a halftime event in Week 3.

The Minnesota Vikings are known for paying attention to what is going on around them. They have adapted to include fun activities like CARaoke, 96 Questions, Halloween photo shoots, throwback rookie photos, and much more. However, their latest video might be their most fun one yet.

Fans of the WWE know all about the history of sports entertainment and its take on professional wrestling in the old days. The web show Southpaw Regional Wrestling features sports entertainers pretending to be wrestlers from when it was all about territories and developing their own talent to survive.

The Vikings released their own take on 80’s wrestling on Twitter with a Southpaw Regional Wrestling feel on Twitter on September 21, 2017. Check out the video right here:

Mike Wobschall plays the announcer, introducing everyone to VCW (Vikings Championship Wrestling) with his best “Mean” Gene Okerlund impression. His guest for the segment is “Nacho Man”, who turns out to be former Vikings linebacker and current sideline reporter Ben Leber in a costume accompanied by Erin Newburg as Miss Elizabeth.

The new and improved Nacho Man announces that he’s going to be participating in Mascot Mania 2 during halftime of the game between the Vikings and Buccaneers teaming up with his friends Freddie Falcon, Goldie Gopher, PK The Loon, Nordy, and Viktor The Viking against 4th and 5th-grade kids.

For fans of classic wrestling and Southpaw Regional Wrestling, this fun commercial for the halftime event at U.S. Bank Stadium is greatly amusing despite not having any current players in the video.

Here is the premiere episode of Southpaw Regional Wrestling as hosted on the official YouTube channel of WWE for those who want to check it out:

Of course, there is a lot of familiarity in professional wrestling these days for Minnesota Vikings fans. Current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns were both members of the franchise at one time, even if it was just for a brief duration. Still, the fun video featuring Mike Wobschall, Ben Leber, and Erin Newberg is a lot of fun for fans of the squared circle.
