Three members of the Minnesota Vikings received fines for their actions during the team’s Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
The Minnesota Vikings put on a great performance in Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season when they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a final score of 34-17 in front of their home crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium.
However, there were some moments from the game that will put a hurt on the pocketbooks of three Vikings players, since the NFL handed down three fines for actions made during the game against Tampa Bay.
Chris Tomasson of the Twin Cities Pioneer Press announced on Twitter two of the three fines received by Minnesota players.
Xavier Rhodes was penalized for taunting following an interception by teammate Trae Waynes, but the league felt further action needed to be taken. On the other hand, Andrew Sendejo’s hit on tight end Cameron Brate was not a penalized play, but when reviewed, the NFL took action.
The third player who received a fine during Week 3 was linebacker Anthony Barr, who was fined $18,231 for a horse-collar tackle on Tampa Bay running back Charles Simms according to Pro Football Talk. The flag was offset by a holding penalty on the Buccaneers but still warranted action from the league.
In total, these fines from Anthony Barr, Andrew Sendejo, and Xavier Rhodes add up to $51,655, which is more than many people make in a year at their place of work and will definitely send a message to the players.
Next: Who to watch in Week 4 vs Detroit
The Minnesota Vikings will host the Detroit Lions in week 4 of the 2017 NFL season at U.S. Bank Stadium where hopefully they can escape with not only a victory but also their entire game paychecks.
