A sluggish offense, injuries, and turnovers are too much for the Minnesota Vikings loss as we look at what grade each unit earn against the Detroit Lions.
The Minnesota Vikings played a tough divisional battle against the Detroit Lions. The Vikings battled in a defensive game but came up short with a 14-7 loss.
The Vikings offense struggled to find a groove against the lions. The team was hurt by miss calls by the refs, questionable calls by the coordinator and turnovers.
As for the Vikings defense, they did hold their own against a solid Lions’ offense, allowing them only 14 points. The team created pressure all game but needed more help than the seven points that were given them by the offense.
The Vikings special teams are highlighted by their kicker, Kai Forbath who missed another kick this week. However this week it was a field goal attempt.
The loss to the Lions became more painful as Dalvin Cook was injured. He left the game in the third quarter after he went down with an apparent knee injury. Today, the Vikings confirmed that Cook torn his ACL and is out for the rest of the year.
The Minnesota Vikings have been one of the most unlucky teams the past two years. Last year they lose Teddy Bridgewater for the season. This season they lost Sam Bradford so far for three games. Now they lose Dalvin Cook for the rest of the season with an ACL tear.
