The interesting stuff vs Washington

  1. Everson Griffen out. Through the first 8 games of the season for Minnesota, Griffen notched at least one sack in each game. That streak came to an end this week when a foot injury sidelined him. Good thing the Vikings have enough talent at the position to recover.
  2. An emotional return. Teddy Bridgewater had been watching games on the sidelines in street clothes, but this week he got to suit up and act as the backup for Case Keenum. It’s a huge step in getting back on the field, and he got emotional about it on the bench.
  3. Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis were not great. Normally, I can tolerate this broadcast team, but today they were struggling to call the game properly. Add in Pam Oliver not even seeming like herself, it was an awkward day for FOX viewers. And they are likely calling next week’s Vikings game!
  4. SKOL chants at FedEx Field. It seems like the fans of the Vikings are everywhere! When a chant of SKOL can break out when on the road, it says a lot about the number of Minnesota fans in the stadium plus how well they travel.
  5. Adam Thielen’s streak continues. Coming into this week, Thielen had caught 5 passes in each game for Minnesota. His efforts against Washington was good for 8 catches totaling 166 receiving yards and one touchdown.
