Bleeding Purple Podcast, Episode 40 – Turkey day win and previewing Week 13 vs. the Falcons

DETROIT, MI - NOVEMBER 23: Kyle Rudolph

The Viking Age’s Adam Patrick and co-host Tyler Haag discuss the Minnesota Vikings latest win over the Detroit Lions and look ahead to their big Week 13 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

It has been quite awhile since the last time the Minnesota Vikings played a game on Thanksgiving Day and actually came out with a victory. Before last Thursday’s 30-23 win over the Detroit Lions, the Vikings had not earned a Thanksgiving victory since 2000 when they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 27-15.

With the win over the Lions, Minnesota has now won seven games in a row and will be looking to increase that winning streak to eight when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. If the Vikings are able to defeat the Falcons this week, it would be the first time Minnesota has won eight games in a row since 1998 (that was a pretty decent season).

During this week’s episode of the Bleeding Purple Podcast, myself and Tyler Haag go over the Vikings’ win on Thanksgiving that seems like it was played weeks ago, look at Minnesota’s current playoff situation, and preview the team’s upcoming matchup with Atlanta.

Tyler and I also talked about a few other Vikings-related subjects including…

  • The referees influence vs. the Lions
  • Joe Buck’s mandatory Aaron Rodgers name drop
  • Current NFC playoff seeding
  • Pat Elflein for Rookie of the Year
  • Laquon Treadwell’s 2018 outlook
  • Xavier Rhodes’ bad day vs. Detroit
  • Seattle would still be scary in the playoffs
  • Everyone overreacting to the Falcons beating the Bucs
  • Rhodes vs. Julio
  • Week 13 predictions
  • Remembering the dumpy Metrodome
  • Too late to replace Forbath
  • The NFL’s technology problem
  • Random Buffalo Bills talk
