Everson Griffen, Harrison Smith, and Adam Thielen of the Minnesota Vikings are all currently the top Pro Bowl vote-getters for their respective position groups in the NFC.

Last year, the Minnesota Vikings had six players from their roster represent the team at the NFL’s annual all-star game, also known as the Pro Bowl. Looking at their success so far, it does not seem crazy to think that even more Vikings could get Pro Bowl invites this season.

Based on the current voting numbers that the league released on Wednesday, at least three members of Minnesota’s 2017 roster will likely play in this year’s NFL all-star game.

In addition to sharing who the league’s top ten current vote-getters are (Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz tops the list), the NFL also released who the current Pro Bowl voting leaders are for each specific position group in both the AFC and the NFC.

On the offensive side of the ball for the NFC, the Vikings are represented by Adam Thielen, who leads all wide receivers in the conference with 199,431 votes. Among the leading vote-getters in the NFC on defense are Minnesota defensive end Everson Griffen (142,144) and free safety Harrison Smith (67,485).

For Thielen, an invite to this season’s Pro Bowl would be the first of his four-year career. But he has more than earned a trip, as he is among the league leaders in catches (fourth), receiving yards (third), and receptions of 40 or more yards (fifth).

Getting an invite to the Pro Bowl this season would make it three straight years for both Griffen and Smith. The Vikings’ defensive end has been playing out of his mind in 2017 and is currently tied for the NFL lead in sacks with 12. Minnesota’s safety has been putting in another solid season so far with 57 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, and nine pass deflections.

Of course, it would be nice to see a bunch of players from the Vikings’ roster in the Pro Bowl this year. But it would be even better if they were not able make the trip because they had to prepare for playing in Super Bowl 52 at U.S. Bank Stadium instead.
