Week 13 game grades: Minnesota Vikings vs. Atlanta Falcons
Minnesota Vikings offensive grade: B
The Vikings offense scored less than 20 points for the first time since Week 4 when they only scored seven points. However, the offense didn’t need to be a high scoring machine but they needed to be efficient.
Furthermore, the Vikings offense was efficient in their win. They took care of the ball and didn’t force anything that could have result in a turnover.
Case Keenum was the leader of the offense going 25/30 for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Also, when the game was tight in the 2nd half Keenum went 13 of 13 on his passes. He was patient and calm which helped the Vikings earn the win.
As good as Keenum, he received help from a lot of guys. Including effort by this offense as everyone made contributions to the win.
Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon continue to be a solid 1-2 punch for the Vikings. Murray had 16 carries for 76 yards including an excellent 30-yard run that set up the first touchdown of the game for the Vikings.
As for McKinnon, he continues to be a solid runner for the Vikings as he finished with nine carries for 24 yards. But where he excels and gives the Vikings an advantage is catching ability. He added five catches for 28 yards and one touchdown.
The pass catchers for the Vikings were held in check on Sunday compared to their big weeks in the past. Adam Thielen led the group with four catches for 51 yards. Kyle Rudolph had four catches for 36 yards and one touchdown.
The Vikings offense wasn’t a high scoring machine but they were a unit that was efficient during the most critical part of the game.
