A multitude of reactions occurred throughout the fan base of the Minnesota Vikings after their dramatic win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Things like this just don’t happen to the Minnesota Vikings.
Normally it’s the Vikings on the wrong side of a surprising, last-second victory. But on the final offensive play of their NFC divisional round matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, it was Minnesota that finally caught a break.
Down a point with just 25 seconds remaining in regulation, Vikings quarterback Case Keenum and the offense had to do their best to somehow get the team close enough for kicker Kai Forbath to attempt a game-winning field goal. However, Forbath never got that opportunity.
With 10 seconds left, Minnesota faced a 3rd and 10 from their own 39-yard line. Keenum took the snap, threw the ball to his right, and that’s when the magic happened.
Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs snatched Keenum’s pass out of the air, turned around, and ran 61 yards for the game-winning score. Diggs’ touchdown will forever be remembered as one of the best moments in the history of the franchise.
