The Minnesota Vikings announced on Monday that Harrison Smith, Kyle Rudolph, and Linval Joseph will now be playing in the 2018 Pro Bowl.
Despite their season coming to a close on Sunday, some members of the Minnesota Vikings still have a game to play this week.
The 2018 Pro Bowl is set to take place next Sunday, January 27 in Orlando, Florida and the initial voting for the NFL’s annual all-star game resulted in four members of the Vikings getting an invite to participate. The four players included linebacker Anthony Barr, defensive end Everson Griffen, wide receiver Adam Thielen, and cornerback Xavier Rhodes.

On Monday, Minnesota announced that three more players from their 2017 roster will now be participating in this season’s Pro Bowl as well. Vikings safety Harrison Smith, tight end Kyle Rudolph, and defensive tackle Linval Joseph have been added to the NFC roster for next Sunday’s game.
Smith is taking the place of New York Giants safety Landon Collins, Rudolph is replacing Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham, and Joseph is taking over the spot originally held by Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox.
With the three additions on Monday, Minnesota has a total of seven players from their 2017 roster that were selected to play in this season’s Pro Bowl. The seven Vikings selected to this year’s game is the most the team has had since 2012.
However, only five of them will be actually heading to Orlando as Barr and Griffen have already declined their invites due to injuries.

For Smith, this will be his third straight appearance at the Pro Bowl, while Joseph and Rudolph will each be making their second-career trip to the game.
