The Vikings Foundation heard apologies from Philadelphia Eagles fans after the NFC Championship Game and decided to be ‘Minnesota Nice’ about it all.
“Minnesota Nice” is a real thing. When walking through a crowd at the Mall of America or finding your seat at U.S. Bank Stadium, people are likely to hear “sorry” and “thank you” on a regular basis. The Vikings Foundation made one thing clear recently: they appreciate being nice.
The Minnesota Vikings fans had a hard time when they went to Philadelphia for the NFC Championship game. There were counts of full, unopened beers being thrown at fans, threats of violence, and even needing to go to the hospital for just wanting to watch a professional football game.
The bad fans in Philadelphia got most of the attention from the media, but many other Eagles fans took the opportunity to write to the Minnesota Vikings and apologize for the way Vikings fans were treated at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Vikings heard the words of these fans and decided to do something special for those fans who reached out to the franchise and donated to the Vikings foundation. Check out the letter received by Philly fans in the tweet below from The Score.
Here is how the note included in the package reads according to WCCO CBS Minnesota:
"“Congratulations on your Super Bowl win, Eagles fans! To show our appreciation of your donation to the Minnesota Vikings Foundation we are excited to present you with this jar of authentic Eagle’s confetti from Super Bowl 52. Your positive attitude and great sportsmanship toward the Minnesota Vikings did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank You and SKOL!”"

This kind of gesture from the Minnesota Vikings Foundation is the kind of unprovoked move that can hopefully go a long way in creating a better relationship between the two fan bases. If that’s not possible, it’s still great to reward those great Eagles fans who apologized and donated to the charitable organization.
