The Minnesota Vikings would reportedly have to give up their 2018 first-round draft selection to acquire the quarterback from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Not many predicted the Minnesota Vikings to get blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in last season’s NFC Championship. Even less envisioned Eagles quarterback Nick Foles to have his way with the Vikings’ top-ranked defense.
Foles went on to have another impressive performance during Philadelphia’s Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots and the quarterback was even named the game’s MVP.
Due to his magical postseason play, Foles has been among the possible options included in the discussion about who will be Minnesota’s starting quarterback in 2018. With one year still remaining on his current contract though, the Vikings would have to complete a trade with the Eagles in order to acquire Foles this offseason.
Based on the compensation it will reportedly take to land the Philadelphia quarterback this year, don’t expect Foles to become a member Minnesota’s roster in 2018.

It would be incredibly foolish for the Vikings to trade a first-round pick in this year’s draft to acquire a quarterback that isn’t even guaranteed to stick around for more than one season.
Can’t blame the Eagles though. They know the demand for a decent signal caller around the NFL is always high each offseason and they are not about to just give away a player who is the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
The reported price tag is just too high for Minnesota to seriously consider acquiring Foles.

If the Vikings had multiple second or third-round draft selections this year, then the story may actually be different. But Minnesota does not, so they are better off just looking for a starting quarterback elsewhere this offseason.
