The free-agent quarterback is reportedly deciding to sign with either the Minnesota Vikings or the New York Jets this offseason.
Heading into the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine last week, the Minnesota Vikings were definitely among the teams in the conversation to land free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins this year. As the combine comes to a close on Monday, it appears that the Vikings are more than just a mere contender for Cousins’ services this offseason.
According to multiple reports on Monday, the free-agent quarterback is believed to have narrowed his preferred destinations to Minnesota and the New York Jets. Cousins would likely be able to get more money from the Jets, but the Vikings are a much better option for him if he’s looking to immediately compete for a Super Bowl.
Another report on Monday from Mile High Sports Radio’s Benjamin Allbright even indicates that the quarterback already has his sights set on signing with Minnesota.
If these reports turn out to be true, Cousins will be helping the Vikings next season in their attempt to contend for the Super Bowl for the second-straight year.
Cousins ending up with Minnesota would likely mean that neither Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, or Teddy Bridgewater will be re-signing with the team this offseason. Bradford or Bridgewater could possibly return to the Vikings in 2018 to be the team’s backup, but the chances of this actually happening seem pretty unlikely.

More reports and rumors will probably continue to come out until the exact moment Cousins actually signs his new contract. But as of Monday, it sounds like that deal will eventually be signed this offseason at the Vikings’ facilities.
