REPORT: Minnesota Vikings have inquired about quarterback Drew Brees
By Adam Carlson
The Minnesota Vikings are seeking a quarterback and a report claims that the franchise has at least looked into the availability of Saints QB Drew Brees.
The NFL offseason is an interesting time. Teams like the Minnesota Vikings are trying to figure out how to piece together their best rosters while players are looking to cash in on big paydays or position themselves to be Super Bowl contenders.
For the Vikings, the recipe for success is quite simple with only a few glaring exceptions. If they can keep their roster mostly intact heading into the 2018 NFL season, they will need to find a quarterback.
Fans can bet that the Vikings are extensively researching all their options this offseason. They have already been linked to keeping each of their free agent quarterbacks as well as at least one big name outside the team.
However, one big name came down from a report made on NFL Network and shared by Tom Pelissero on Twitter: the Vikings have looked into the availability of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
Check out the post on Twitter:
Nearly everyone assumes that Brees will be back with the Saints for the 2018 NFL season. He has spent so long with the team and has built a great relationship with the franchise, but the Vikings likely don’t want to leave any stone unturned in their search for a quarterback.
While acquiring Brees would make Minnesota an instant contender for at least a season or two, it would be absolutely shocking to see the 39-year-old quarterback leave the New Orleans Saints.
Fans of the Vikings shouldn’t get their hopes up too much about the idea of Drew Brees being the team’s next quarterback, but it sure is fun to imagine what the team could be like with the former Super Bowl MVP and 11-time Pro Bowl player at the helm.

The front-runners to be the Minnesota Vikings quarterback for the 2018 NFL season still have to be Case Keenum or Kirk Cousins, but we will have to wait and see what happens in free agency or possibly the NFL Draft to see what direction the team goes at the most important position in sports.
