The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback will reportedly sign a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals worth up to $20 million in 2018.

It wasn’t much of a season to remember for Sam Bradford in 2017. The Minnesota Vikings quarterback came out on fire in the team’s Week 1 win over the New Orleans Saints.

However, Bradford was back on the sidelines dealing with a knee issue just one week later.

He attempted to make a comeback in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears, but it became clear very quickly that his injury still needed some additional recovery time.

Bradford didn’t take another snap for the Vikings for the remainder of the season. And now, it looks like that game against the Bears was his last in a Minnesota uniform.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that the veteran quarterback is expected to sign a deal to join the Arizona Cardinals.

This seems like a lot of money for the Cardinals to give to a guy coming off yet another season cut short by knee issues.

Since 2013, Bradford has missed a total of 42 games. During that time period, the quarterback has also managed to make more than $68 million.

Following the reports of the Vikings being likely to sign Kirk Cousins on Tuesday, there were also some rumblings of Minnesota possibly bringing Bradford back for 2018 as a backup. But that’s clearly not going to happen anymore.

In Arizona, Bradford will likely get the opportunity to be the starter for the 2018 season. Expect the Cardinals to select a quarterback within the first few rounds of the draft this year as well.

What exactly will Bradford be remembered for from his time with Minnesota? Probably not much more than just the guy that cost the Vikings a first-round pick to acquire him in 2016.
