The Viking Age’s Adam Patrick and Sporting Sota’s Tyler Haag go over the latest Minnesota Vikings news and updates.

A day after giving Kirk Cousins a truckload of cash, the Minnesota Vikings made another splash in free agency when they signed defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. The 2013 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year will join a Vikings’ defensive line next season that was already one of the league’s scariest even before his arrival.

With the addition of Richardson, however, Minnesota felt the need to free up some more cap space and it ultimately resulted in the release of veteran wide receiver Jarius Wright.

On this week’s episode of the Bleeding Purple Podcast, Tyler and I talked about these two pieces of news and a number of Vikings-related topics including…

  • The Vikings actually signed Sheldon Richardson
  • Richardson’s run-ins with the law
  • Treadwell’s cryptic tweet
  • Cordarrelle Patterson heading to New England
  • Latavius Murray restructures his deal with the Vikings
  • Jarius Wright let go by Minnesota
  • Panthers turning into the Vikings of the east?
  • Teddy’s horrible contract with the Jets
  • New York made a bad draft trade with the Colts
  • Odell Beckham in the negative spotlight again
  • Reminiscing about old Nokia cell phones
  • Vikings expected to open 2018 against the Eagles
  • Eagles fans are still stupid
  • NY Post writer is not a fan of Minnesota
  • Why are their six different Lids stores in the Mall of America?
  • Grading the Vikings’ moves in free agency so far
  • How many people actually do have legit NFL sources?
  • Richardson a signing to cheer up Mike Zimmer?
