This Tuesday and Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings will reportedly hold their annual draft event in which they meet with some of the top prospects on their board.

Each offseason prior to the NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings invite 30 prospects from the current draft pool to come visit their facilities and meet with the team’s coaches and staff. For the past few years, the meeting has been unofficially known as the Vikings’ Top-30 event.

A number of current players on Minnesota’s roster have attended this event in the past including wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, linebacker Anthony Barr, cornerback Trae Waynes, and safety Anthony Harris. There’s usually a good chance that at least one of the 30 prospects visiting will eventually be a member of the Vikings’ roster.

According to KSTP’s Darren Wolfson on Monday, Minnesota’s 2018 Top-30 event will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. This will be the first Top-30 event to take place at the Vikings’ brand new TCO Performance Center.

The prospects that have already been reported to be among this year’s attendees should give a good indication of what position groups Minnesota is looking to improve with their first few 2018 draft selections.

There could be a specific player the Vikings have in mind for their first-round pick this year. But given how late in the first round they are selecting (30th) and the lack of starters needed for 2018, Minnesota could really just end up selecting the best player available that doesn’t play quarterback.
