Vikings to visit Marshall, Minnesota for a Town Takeover

Marshall, Minnesota will be purple and gold when the Minnesota Vikings come to town to award a school with a $10,000 check for their football program.

The Minnesota Vikings are a very giving organization. Not only does the franchise itself have a foundation that does wonderful things for the community, but individual players from the team have numerous charities that benefit those in need.

Another example of the Vikings generosity and commitment to the community will be on display on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 when the teams performs a Town Takeover on Marshall, Minnesota.

According to the website of the Marshall Independent, the town will have purple on display everywhere as the Vikings come to town to deliver a $10,000 check to the Marshall football program during the festivities in honor of being named 2017 Minnesota Football Program of the Year and In the Game Award.

Speaking of festivities, there will be several great activities and for kids and family in Marshall to enjoy. Here are just some of the noted plans on the itinerary:

  • Youth football clinics
  • Elementary school visits
  • Autograph sessions
  • Meet Viktor and the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders
  • and more!

While the Marshall Tigers are known for orange and black colors, the community will be purple and gold in honor of their guests when the Vikings come to town for the annual Town Takeover.

Here is the schedule of events on Friday:

  • 9 am – 12 pm: Paul Allen and KFAN are live from Wooden Nickel for 3 hours. Viktor appears at Park Side Elementary School for Fuel Up to Play 60. Viktor also visits West Side Elementary.
  • 12:30 pm-2:30 pm: Brau Brothers Brewing Company hosts a business luncheon from Schwan’s Company
  • 5:30 pm – 9 pm: Marshall M-Club fundraiser events at Varsity Pub, The Gambler, and Fuzzy’s including player autographs at each location, silent auctions, and trivia. (Players signing are currently unknown)

Saturdays are all about the free football clinics. Former Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson, current players, and the MHS football team will host Vikings InSports football clinics for K-9 students.
