The Week 1 preseason game between the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos will give fans their first look at two quarterbacks in new places.

When the 2018 preseason schedule was released and the four opponents for the Minnesota Vikings were revealed, fans should have been quite interested to see who their first opponent would be.

Normally, a Week 1 preseason matchup against the Denver Broncos wouldn’t be very interesting or even noteworthy. However, a couple of transactions this offseason should be very intriguing to fans of Minnesota.

Quarterback Case Keenum did a great job with the Vikings last year. He helped lead Minnesota to the NFC Championship game, had a 22 to 7 touchdown to interception ratio, and gave fans a memory they will never forget with the Minneapolis Miracle.

Despite all that, the Vikings let Keenum leave in free agency. His new team: the Denver Broncos.

Not only will the Broncos get their first look at Keenum against another NFL team during Week 1 of the preseason, but Minnesota will have a chance to see Kirk Cousins in action in a Vikings jersey at the same time.

But there is more than that.

Former Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian is with the Vikings thanks to a trade and cornerback Tramaine Brock is now in Denver after spending the 2017 season in Minnesota.

These familiar faces in new places are just the icing on the cake for fans of the Vikings. Preseason signals that the start of the regular season is just around the corner and gives everyone a chance to see their team in action before wins and losses start becoming more meaningful and counting toward a postseason berth.

Vikings fans should be looking forward to seeing how the new look offense works under coordinator John DeFilippo with Kirk Cousins at the helm, but it’s hard not to be at least a little interested in seeing how Keenum performs with his new team.
